Post-war Italy saw an incredible number of economical bikes with small engines appear. One of the most famous of these was the Motoleggera 65, launched in 1946. This little bike was powered by a two-stroke 64cc single-cylinder engine, mounted in a chassis. A pressed-steel parallelogram fork and two springs with horizontal coils offered a degree of comfort. This Motoleggera may be registered as a historic motorbike; fun to use, it is a moving testimony to the renaissance of a prestigious marque.
