Moto Guzzi, a famous manufacturer of motorbikes destined to become true milestones of motorcycling, representing the great Italian engineering capacity in the world, was founded in 1921, exactly one century ago, and immediately distinguished itself for the production of high performance motorbikes. The first models had 4-stroke engines with opposed-valve distribution, but by 1934 production of new models called Vs (overhead valves) had already begun, and thanks to this and other solutions, performance increased considerably, with a claimed power output of 22 hp at 4500 rpm and a top speed of around 120 km/h. The frame was made of steel tubes with the front suspension equipped with a parallelogram fork with central spring and at the rear two “compass” shock absorbers with elastic clutches and drum brakes. The proposed model is a rare “bitubo” (twin turbo, so called because of the double exhaust pipe), registered in the Historical Register FMI, a great timeless classic of the Moto Guzzi style famous throughout the world. Restored and since then presumably never used. A general mechanical check is recommended before use.
