- Reliable and high-performance

Entirely dedicated to competition, the Guzzi Gambalunga was an evolution of the Dondolino, but its name (gamba lunga, "long leg" in Italian) was linked to the increased stroke of the traditional single-cylinder which, with dimensions of 84x90 mm bore x stroke, abandoned the previous super-square formula. The aim was to boost torque and thus acceleration. The Gambalunga also featured an under-seat oil tank, a more streamlined aluminum fuel tank and a new oscillating-rod fork, later used on other Guzzi competition bikes. This well-born model distinguished itself extensively in racing in the late '40s, notably in the hands of Enrico Lorenzetti.
The Gambalunga presented here entered the Guzzi collection in the '80s, and was subsequently fully restored. This superb competition machine is a must-have in any sports bike collection.
