Splendid 1948 Moto Guzzi Airone. In first instance it was called the PE, later renamed as the Airone (Heron in Italian) to fit in with other animal names Moto Guzzi used. In 1992 the bike was exported from Italy to Holland. This model has rear-mounted friction shocks. Having been part of a very large Moto Guzzi collection; this Airone has only done a few kilometres since it was fully restored and mechanically fully overhauled a few years ago. It an aluminium 250 cc OHV engine with enclosed rocker arm and valve springs. It is just great to see such a beautiful motor bike!
