60 bhp, 744 cc vertical twin engine.
Laverda started building motorcycles in 1949, having a history in agricultural machinery. As was typical of the period, the first offerings were 50-cc to 99-cc singles with some sporting pretensions, but Francisco Laverda had more lofty ambitions. In the 1960s the company launched a 744-cc vertical twin with a chain-driven overhead camshaft engine and 52 bhp. The 750S model produced 60 bhp and was capable of 120 mph. Prized for their handling and distinctive exhaust note, the 750 range was crowned by the racing SFC in 1972.
This beautifully restored example is finished in metallic blue with chrome-plated mudguards and is a particularly sharp example. Indeed the paintwork exhibits a deep lustre, and all the brightwork is in fine rust-free order. Fitted with original Milanese registration plates “MI 496745,” this SF
