Description

Completely restored from the frame up. Frame measured and repainted. All new electrical wiring, lighting and brake lines. Complete engine rebuild as well as differential. The restoration was complete in April of 2018. This FD125 was on display at The Quail Motorcycle Gathering. Clearly one of the finest examples of the three-wheel FD125 to be found.

The FD125, a three-wheel scooter, was a single cylinder, two-stroke with a drive shaft. It had a small, sturdy tubular frame. On the back, a cargo box for hauling and light commercial work. It was perfect for the small store owner or for the local garage. This FD125 was purchased in Italy as a complete, running scooter and imported to California. It was completely restored by Grand Prix Classics own expert. In original colors, with the original engine, frame and other components.

Ferdinando Innocenti, a Milan industrialist, saw the need for inexpensive transportation in Post-World War II Italy. His Lambretta scooter, created in 1947, became immensely popular by the mid-1950s with a small series of three-wheel utility vehicles produced. Now, they are a reminder of post-war Italy life and works of art.

This rare find comes with FIM Historic Registry gold plaque, old Italian paperwork, Libretto, registration, import paperwork and a California title. It also comes with full restoration file of photos and receipts. It is perfect for the collector, to enter in a motorcycle, scooter or car show or simply to ride and enjoy. It will make an excellent pit cart at historic car races.
