Description

  • Peter Collins was the 1976 World Champion and rode for the Belle Vue Aces all his career
  • He won another nine World Championships with team and pair events
  • This 1973 Jawa was a bike he rode in period before using the Weslake four-valve to great success
  • The bike was also raced by his younger brother Les at the start of his career
  • Les restored the bike in the early 1990s and it was the top prize in a raffle at his testimonial in 1995 in Edinburgh
  • Peter bought the bike back off the raffle winners in 2013 and restored it to its current condition
  • A great piece of British Speedway history and an important part of the Collins family speedway history
  • Complete with some period photos and a letter of authenticity from Peter Collins
  • Not run for some time so will require some recommissioning before use
