Manufactured between 1971 and 1974 in 250, 350 and 450 cc versions, the Desmo was the racing version of the Mark III. The second series, put on sale in late 1972, received a slight increase in power, electronic ignition and improved yellow paintwork (which was the only colour available). From 1973 onwards, a front disc brake and integrated fairing were available.
