Description

Months before his tragic death at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, Ayrton Senna agreed to put his name next to the limited-run Ducati 916 Senna. The resulting bike, distinguishable by its black/silver colour scheme with red wheels, was comparative to the 916 Strada and SP. The bike shared an aluminium rear subframe, shock absorbers, cast-iron front discs and solo seat, as well as a long list of very desirable performance parts.

Whilst the first and second generations of the Senna was painted in shades of silver, the final generation (iii) was presented in a striking black colour, which straight away drew major attention to the red details and the white ‘Senna’ badging. The 3rd gen. Sennas also benefited from an exhaust heat-shield and a fully carbon fibre airbox. The 916cc DOHC twin-cyl engine produced 114 hp at 9000 rpm, and matched with its 6-spd transmission was capable of 160 mph. Dry weight was 198kg.

Only 300 examples of this bike were produced. This model has only done 12,398 miles and comes with documented service history as well as its owners manual and handbooks. A perfect collectors’ item bearing the legendary Senna name.
