1998 Ducati 916 Senna III No. 300
Frame no. ZDM 916S 012666
Engine no. ZDM 916W4 013158
The limited edition Senna version of Ducati's iconic '916' superbike first appeared in 1995, differing from the Strada by virtue of its predominantly dark grey colour scheme; 916SPS chassis and running gear; and Pankl con-rods inside the engine. Two further series were produced the Senna II and Senna III - with different colour schemes and only minor changes before the model was deleted at the end of 1998. The Senna III offered here is the last of only 300 examples of this exclusive model to be produced (see Ducati factory correspondence on file). The current owner purchased the Senna from a Ducati dealer in Zürich in 2009, by which time it had covered only 1,500 kilometres.
The Ducati has now covered 5,900 kilometres from new and only 1,800 since its last service in 2010. We are advised that it will have undergone a major service at an official Ducati dealer prior to sale (in January 2014). Modifications include an Alcantara seat with Brazilian flag patch, Ayrton Senna patch and Italian flag patch; special bodywork stickers; Pazzo racing brake and clutch levers; and a Zero Gravity dark smoke windscreen. Signed by World Superbike Champion Troy Bayliss, the machine comes with full service history, Swiss Carte Grise, technical inspection and all its original accessories plus many optional ones.
