The 900 SS for Supersport is an iconic model of the brand that was assembled entirely by hand at the time at Borgo Panigale. It was born in 1975 to support the 750SS in the Ducati sports range and remained in the catalogue until the end of 1981. Its 90° square V-twin 4-stroke twin-cylinder is taken from the 860 GT and develops 72 hp at 7500 rpm.The great technical originality of this SS is its desmodromic distribution with electronic ignition, equipped with a 5-speed gearbox, for a dry weight of 188 kilos the Beauty propels itself at 225 km/h, its braking being ensured by Brembo with discs drilled 280 mm at the front and 229 at the rear. The fork and rear shock absorber are supplied by the famous Marzocchi equipment manufacturer. On our model, Dell'orto 40 mm carburettors are mounted as an option as well as magnificent and magical Conti silencers. The meagre production of the 900 SS stopped at the end of 1981. His replacement will not be released until 1989. Our 089702 »DM860SS » is a 900SS second series of 1980 black and gold in the colours of the John Player Special cigar maker.This motorcycle has undergone a total restoration by a lover of the Bologna brand, on almost permanent display next to the other Ducat’s, it only covered very few kilometers after its restoration, during a meeting the great Rino Carrachi of NCR now deceased signed this motorcycle on its bubble, only 2684 copies of this series have been manufactured. La 900SS pour Supersport est un modèle iconique de la marque qui était assemblée entièrement à la main à l’époque à Borgo Panigale. Elle nait en 1975, pour épauler la 750SS dans la gamme sportive Ducati et reste au catalogue jusqu'à fin 1981. Son 4 temps bi-cylindre en V à 90°carters carrés est repris de la 860GT et développe 72 chevaux à 7500 tours. La grande originalité technique de cette SS est sa distribution desmodromique avec allumage électronique, équipée d’une boite 5 rapports, pour un poids à sec de 188 kilos la Bella se propulse à 225 km/h, son freinage étant assuré par Brembo avec des disques percés de 280 mm à l'avant et 229 à l'arrière. La fourche et l'amortisseur arrière sont fournis par le célèbre équipementier Marzocchi. Sur notre modèle des carburateurs Dell’orto de 40 mm sont montés en option ainsi que de magnifiques et magiques silencieux Conti. La maigre production de la 900SS s'arrête à la fin de l'année 1981. Sa remplaçante ne sortira qu'en 1989. Notre bécane 089702 ' DM860SS ' est une deuxième série de 1980 noire et or aux couleurs du cigarettier John Player Spécial. Cette moto à subie une restauration totale par un amoureux de la marque de Bologne, en exposition quasi permanente à coté des autres Ducat, elle n’a parcourue que très peu de kilomètres après sa restauration, lors d’un meeting le grand Rino Carrachi de NCR aujourd’hui décédé à signé cette moto sur sa bulle, seulement 2684 exemplaires de cette série ont étés fabriqués. C’est une icône roulante avec une sonorité magique et inoubliable.
