Description
Ducati 250cc Racing Motorcycle
Frame no. D005
Engine no. DM005 (restamped)
Successful production racers in their day, Ducati air-cooled overhead-camshaft singles have in recent years become a mainstay of Classic and Historic racing worldwide. Suitably modified versions are highly competitive in the right hands; indeed, Ducatis regularly feature in the top three positions in the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club's 'European 250' Class. Described by the vendor as 'all aluminium' (presumably a reference to the cylinder barrel, usually cast-iron) this Ducati racer is of unknown origin but is nicely constructed. Magnesium brakes are another unusual feature, more usually associated with exotic works 'specials'. A potentially competitive entry-level 250 classic racer. No documents.
As with all Lots in the Sale, this Lot is sold 'as is/where is' and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding.
