Description
Ridden by Cyril Esquirol #15 in the 1996 Paris-Dakar Rally
1996 Cagiva Elefant Dakar
Frame no. 001525
The Cagiva Elefant E900 was powered by a SOHC Ducati 900cc engine.
This particular example was ridden in the 1996 Dakar Rally by the French rider Cyril Esquirol, who holds the record for victories in the now defunct Gilles Lalay Classic, named after the late Gilles Lalay (killed on the Dakar in 1992) and considered by many the world's toughest endurance race.
Esquirol's outing in the 1996 Dakar ended in retirement after he suffered a head injury in a fall.
This bike has been on static display since a number of years and is in need of recommissioning.
Please note this bike does not come with any registration document.
