BMW's first new postwar model was a single-cylinder design, the 250 cc R24, which arrived in 1948, appearing very much like the prewar R23 but producing an additional 2 hp. It was superseded in 1950 by the R25, which featured plunger rear suspension. An improved R25/2 version was introduced during 1951 incorporating a stronger crankshaft and other minor revisions. Built between 1953 and 1956, the final R25 variant, the R25/3, featured a new telescopic front fork, full-width alloy hubs, and alloy wheel rims as the principal upgrades.

This lovely example was sold new to Germany and remained there for most of its life. It was restored by Ulis Motorradladen in Frankfurt in 2012, and purchased by the consignor in 2014. In his ownership, the BMW was serviced, documented by records on file. Importantly, this R25/3 also retains its matching engine, frame, and frame tag numbers. This is an exciting opportunity to acquire a gorgeous and rare example of BMW’s legendary engineering prowess.
