Wally 55 Wallypower

Wally has introduced the new 55 wallypower, an extremely sporty, aggressive-looking boat, fully open and featuring a huge windscreen in place of a hard top, which surrounds the entire cockpit area.

The 55 wallypower’s vast aft ‘beach’ of around 10m2 provides a terrace-on-the-sea feeling, while the cockpit offers comfortable and symmetrical seating – spacious areas to relax, completely sheltered by the windscreen. A six-place dining table sits on the port side, with the wheel and navigation station to starboard. If desired, the entire cockpit can be covered by an optional hard top, giving shelter from the sun.

Four Volvo D6 engines, each of 435HP, provide the propulsion – up to an estimated maximum speed of more than 40 knots. There is also a large, hydraulically retractable aft ‘passerelle’ that serves as a boarding platform and swimming ladder, and which also allows a jet ski to be lifted out of the water and brought onboard. The interior layout features a salon, two cabins with (optional) en-suites, a galley and a crew cabin with en-suite.

The 55 wallypower, says Wally, is ‘delivered with a truly complete sail-away specification’ plus a high degree of bespoke styling possible – of both exterior and interior. The Wally design team has, however, developed different ‘themes’ as a useful starting point for the customer.

Available from Summer 2009, prices start from around 1.7 million euros. For further information, see www.wally.com.
