Vente Osenat on 24 October 2004 at Fontainebleau - Preview

The motor car department of auction house Jean-Pierre Osenat, run by Stéphane Pavot, announces an auction of collectors’ cars to be held at Fontainebleau on October 24. For more than twenty-five years, Jean-Pierre Osenat and his team have organized the sales of collectors’ motor cars in the heart of the royal city. It’s the fifteenth sale organised by the new team since 2001.

Several high-speed cars are included, starting with the exceptional Voisin C14. Its Art Deco bodywork could only have been made by a manufacturer of aeroplane engines, the distinct ‘Chartre’ aluminium styling a trademark of the marque. The example in the sale has been in the same family since 1965. (Estimate 50.000 - 70.000 €).

Also included in the pre-war section is the Lombard AL3, a unique car with its twin-camshaft 1500cc engine. This was the car driven by Roger Gerbout, who drove the car up to 1951. Estimate 80.000 - 100.000 €.

This selection will be supplemented by a beautiful Delahaye 135 with coachwork designed and built by Chapron, (estimate 30.000 - 40.000 €), a Sizaire Frères 4RI Cabriolet (35.000 - 45.000 €), a truly avant-garde car with its independent suspension, overhead-camshaft engine and rack and pinion steering. There is also a 1936 George Irat Roadster (estimate 15.000 - 20.000 €) and a Talbot T120 'Baby Sport' convertible that comes equipped with a splendid luggage set (estimate 35.000 - 45.000 €). More modern, but no less beautiful, cars include a Ferrari F40 (estimate 230.000 - 260.000 €) and a rare Peugeot 203 Darl'mat (estimate 30.000 - 40.000 €). Sporting enthusiasts will like the 1957 Aston Martin DB2/4 (estimate 45.000 - 55.000 €), two Ferrari Testarossas (a coupé and a cabriolet by Straman), the Facel Vega HK500 (estimate 25.000 - 30 000 €) and the De Tomaso Mangusta (estimate 30.000 - 40 000 €).

The cars will be on display at 107 avenue George Clemenceau, Moret-on-Loing (around 12 km from Fontainebleau) during the week preceding the sale.

The sale will take place on October 24, at the Hôtel des Ventes de Fontainebleau (opposite the castle) starting at 14h30..
