Vanity Fair Visits Ralph Lauren Car Collection

Photographer Todd Eberle, on behalf of the U.S. magazine Vanity Fair, was granted a rare privilege when he was invited to visit Ralph Lauren’s car collection.

The resulting photo spread in Vanity Fair was titled ‘Inside Ralph's Garage’, but it shows something that has less the proportions of a garage, and rather more those of a substantial museum. The numerous Ferraris, displayed simply on white pedestals, stand out from the deep black of the floor and could well drive Maranello disciples to tears of joy. The centrepiece is a 1958 Ferrari Testa Rossa, but Ferrari is not the only marque represented. In a far corner of the stylish, minimalist exhibition space is the unique Mercedes-Benz SSK ‘Count Trossi’ Roadster from 1930, along with a 1931 Alfa Romeo Monza, a 1934 Bugatti Type 59, plus an Alfa Romeo 2.9 Mille Miglia Spyder and a Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic Coupé, both the latter from 1938.
