Tour Auto: En route to 2012

The organisers of the Tour Auto Optic 2ooo have now confirmed next year’s route. Held from 16-21 April 2012, the field of more than 200 classics will travel from Paris to Nice.

After scrutineering in Paris’s Grand Palais, the cars will set off from Vaux-le-Vicomte Château and, after a circuit session at Dijon-Prenois, the first full day of the rally will end at the Parc des Expositions in Beaune. On Wednesday, following a special stage at the circuit of La Bresse, the competitors will have a short break on the banks of the Lac du Bourget in Aix-les-Bains. Then it’s on to Clermont-Ferrand, before heading to Nîmes and, on the final day, there will be time on the Paul Ricard circuit before crossing the finishing line in Nice.

Details of the special stages will, as usual, only be provided shortly beforehand, to avoid ‘reconnaissance’. Further details at www.tourauto.com.
