Only with its second owner and driven just 15,000 kilometers (9,300 miles) so far – these facts alone make this Porsche 911 Speedster a mouth-watering proposition. The car shown here in all its beauty bears number 211 out of a series of only 356 units produced, a figure deliberately chosen by Porsche as a tribute to the original 356 Speedster of 1954. Based on the underpinnings of the 997 Carrera GTS, it was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 2010.

Compared to the standard 997 Convertible, the new Speedster featured a windscreen lowered by 2.8 inches while maintaining the same rake, the wide body of the GTS, and the distinctive double bulge on the aluminum tonneau cover. Some details were carried over from the 911 Sport Classic, such as 19-inch alloys in the classic Fuchs design and the black-rimmed headlights. Porsche offered only two colors for this first standard production Speedster since the 1994 Model Year 964 Speedster: the bright non-metallic Pure Blue, developed specifically for the Speedster, and Carrera White – with PTS versions produced in very limited numbers.

The 997 Speedster was powered by the same 3.8-litre flat-six (MA101S) engine as the Carrera GTS, generating a maximum output of 408 PS and 309 lb-ft of torque, paired with the seven-speed PDK double-clutch transmission. Official performance figures were a 4.2-second sprint from 0–60 mph and a top speed of 190 mph.

The unique interior of the 997 Speedster featured special leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a set of retro-style gauges, complemented by modern amenities like satnav, a sound system, and climate control.

Because the French importer had only been allocated five cars, the first owner acquired his dream car via a detour to Belgium, which had been allocated a pool of nine. After the sale at the D'leteren dealership was finalized, he brought the car back to France and registered it there in November 2012. Today it presents itself in excellent cosmetic condition, looking stunning in its Pure Blue launch color and contrasting beautifully with a black leather interior accented with touches of the body color. Configuration-wise, this Porsche includes nearly every option from the catalog, with the sole exception of the quilted center section of the seats.
