Rubens Barrichello Chronograph by Audemars Piguet

A grand prix driver since 1993, Rubens Barrichello has been associated with one of the world’s top ‘Manufactures’ for nearly two years. To celebrate this, Audemars Piguet have produced a very special chronograph.

Produced as a limited edition of 1,650 pieces, the special Royal Oak Offshore Rubens Barrichello is designed to pay homage to the high-tech world of Formula 1 engineering and performance, yet combining it with the timeless elegance of a Swiss watchmaker of the very highest quality.

Three versions are available. The first is 950 platinum (150 pieces), the second is 18-carat pink gold (500 pieces) and the third is in grade 5 titanium (1000 pieces), a material most usually found in top-level racing cars from Formula 1 and Le Mans.

The racing connections do not stop there because the watch also features ultra-resistant ‘anti-shock’ technical ceramics for the bezel, pushbuttons and crown, as well as the side profile of the bezel mimicking the ventilations on a disc brake’s edges while the crown looks like a gear wheel and the push buttons brake cooling ducts.

The dial is partially dissected to reveal the internal workings of the chronograph and is available in three colours, midnight blue, black or white. The strap is black ‘anfibio’ leather for the titanium and gold models, and midnight blue crocodile for the platinum. Contrasting stitching is present in all three (grey for the titanium, face colour for the gold and blue for the platinum).

The reverse of the Royal Oak Offshore Rubens Barrichello features a steering wheel design and Rubens’ personal motif. Each model comes in a dedicated presentation box. For further information please visit www.audemarspiguet.com.
