Founded in 1925, the Italian pen manufacturer OMAS has produced some classic designs. Joining the famous Arte Italiana twelve-sided pens, and the Château Lafite Rothschild limited-edition, will be a special range of Maserati writing instruments.
OMAS (Officina Meccanica Armando Simoni, named after its founder) is based in Bologna, right in the heart of the Italian super car and motorcycle industry. So it’s no surprise that the Modenese car maker should choose a local company, well-known for hand-crafted, high quality production. The range will be called 'Omas for Maserati' and will comprise a fountain pen and fine-liner ballpoint, limited to just 1914 pieces in total. This figure is split 1200/714, fountain pens/ballpoints and represents the founding year of the Maserati company, 1914.
The pens carry the famous Trident symbol and are made from 925 K silver. The design employs several styling cues from the GT cars, including the GranTurismo’s characteristic grill profile integrated into the pen cap.
The limited-edition 'Omas for Maserati' fountain pen costs 1850 euros, the fine-liner 1650 euros. Both will be available from European official Maserati dealers this year. For further information, see www.omas.com.
