Audi will launch an all-new Q3 model at the Shanghai Motor Show later this month. Some early sketches have been released of the VW Tiguan-sized ‘soft-roader’.
With its nearest competitor being the X1 from BMW, it’s not surprising that the Ingolstadt company is interested in a market seemingly insatiable for well-built, premium-badged ‘shopping’ estates with off-road ‘cred’ (and, to be fair, some capability in snowy central Europe). The base model will be FWD only. Two turbocharged petrol, four-cylinder engines (160HP and 200HP) and two turbo-diesels (140HP and 170HP) are likely to be available from launch. The car will be built in the Seat factory in Spain, priced in the region of 30,000 euros, and in the showrooms this autumn. Just ready for the winter.
