Monaco Yacht Show

Every September, Monaco hosts its annual Yacht Show, the focal point for business in the luxury yachting sector. The 17th Monaco Yacht Show takes place from the 19th to 22nd September in Monaco’s Port Hercules.

For ship-builders and designers, naval architects, yacht equipment suppliers, brokers and service providers – anyone, in fact, involved in luxury yachting – this is a key international event. Some 500 exhibitors from 38 countries are attending, and the organisers tell us that the Show has been fully booked up for several months. Around 24,000 visitors are expected.

A total of 95 yachts and tenders are on display, with more than 30 being unveiled to the public for the first time. The largest yacht at this year’s show is the 82-metre Alfa Nero, which has a 7m x 3.5m pool on board, rapidly converted by a hyrdraulically-powered cover to form a heli-pad. Some 30 metres shorter, but nevertheless highly impressive, is the 2004 Andale, a 50m boat looking for a new owner.

This year, the MYS incorporates an auction of 34 watches, each of which is either unique, or the first in a select line, and all of which have been donated by 34 prestigious watchmakers. The proceeds of the auction will be entirely donated to help fight Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
