Maybach and the St Moritz Cartier Polo World Cup on Snow 2003

St. Moritz, January, 2003. For the first time, the Maybach luxury car brand sponsored a team in the "Cartier Polo World Cup on Snow", which took place in the Swiss winter sports resort of St. Moritz from January 23 - 26, 2003.

The contest, which this year saw "Team Maybach" and three other teams competing for the Cartier Cup, was held on the frozen St. Moritz lake for the 19th time. "Team Maybach" comprised polo professionals Hernan Agote, Tomas Goti and Diego Braun (all from Argentina) and was captained by reigning European polo champion Mathias Hermès (from France).

The luxury car brand had also chosen the renowned winter polo tournament in St. Moritz as the setting for a presentation of the Maybach 57 and 62 luxury saloons. An exclusive Maybach Lounge, which had been set up as part of this initiative, was open daily during the tournament and guests visiting the lounge were able to view the vehicles on display and discuss their individual requirements with the manufacturer's representatives.

In the competition "Team Maybach" finished in third place behind the "Cartier Polo Team" and winners, the appropriately Swiss backed "Bank Hofman". "Team Maybach" had the consolation of French captain Mathias Hermès being voted "Best #1" of the tournament.
