Maserati GS Spyder by Zagato at Villa d'Este 2007

There will be a World Premiere at the Villa d’Este Concours this year; Zagato will present a new coupe based on the Maserati GranSport Spyder. The car has been commissioned by an Italian, Paolo Boffi, an industrialist and entrepreneur working in the furniture and luxury designer goods markets.

You would not tell the basis of the car from its exterior, in fact you could not tell at all that it was based on a cabriolet. Zagato has taken the GranSport’s chassis, shortened it by 18 cm and clothed it in an aluminium body with a characteristic “double bubble” roof. The compact GT’s handling traits will have been totally changed by the conversion, ensuring an even more maneuverable sports car than normal.

The presentation of the new car will take place at Villa d’Este on Lake Como in Italy during the 2007 Concours taking place from 21 – 22 April. Further details to come on Classic Driver in full course.
