Maserati GranCabrio Sport: A subtle difference

Maserati GranCabrio Sport: A subtle difference

With the new Maserati GranCabrio Sport which goes on sale this summer, the Italians have given us a more powerful version of the 2+2-seater with fabric roof. An extra 10HP are squeezed from the mildly tweaked 4.7-litre V8 of the ‘Sport’ version, which now delivers 450HP.

There’s also a (small) upturn in top speed – albeit only 2km/h more – to give a claimed 285km/h, while optimised gearshifts help the standard sprint to pass a little more quickly, too. Further incentives to buy include firmer suspension to give even better handling, more powerful brakes and plenty of cosmetic treats to identify the ‘Sport’ model. For example, the black grille with red Trident, the dark headlights with bright surround, and the body-coloured side skirts.

In Europe, there’s a 6000-euro price premium over the base model for the GranCabrio Sport.
