The organisers of this years 'Le Chateau Challenge' have just announced details of how to enter the event in support of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The event is from Wednesday the 18th of September to Saturday the 21st September 2002.
It's not a race but it is a competition. A competition to visit as many of the participating chateaux of the Loire between Montrichard (near Tours) to Champs-sur-Layon (near Angers) within a time limit. A number of special functions have been arranged along the way, including a fantastic end of event dinner at Chateau de Brissac.
The entry fee of £40.00 per car includes tour of Caves Monmousseau (with sparkling wine tasting and presentation bottles to each team) and a tour of one chateau. Wine tasting at Chateau Chupin, the finale cocktail reception and dinner hosted by the Marquis de Brissac is also included.
All entrants must undertake to raise at least £500 for charity per car but the organisers hope with their local fundraisers you will be able to exceed that target.
The event is open to any make of vehicle of any age.
All travel and accomodation arrangements will be the entrants responsibility however special rates have been negotiated with Brittany Ferries on a range of crossings from the UK.
