Lamborghini has released a statement following press reports that its forthcoming four-door supercar, the Estoque, has been ‘cancelled’. Sadly, the statement confirms that there are currently no plans to build production versions of the fabulous concept it unveiled at last year’s Paris motor show. But Lamborghini clearly doesn’t see this as a cancellation – because no decision was ever taken to build it in the first place.
According to the statement, “Lamborghini believes that if a third model line should ever be added to its product line-up, a four-door luxury performance saloon could be a logical product strategy.” But it adds, “No decision has been made to produce the Estoque.”
No doubt we need to wait for happier economic times.
