Rather fittingly, Jeep has revealed a conceptual study at the Paris boat show which uses inspirations of a maritime nature.

Two ‘Nautic’ versions of the popular Wrangler model will be on display at the Salon Nautique de Paris until 11 December: one white and one black, each with a different take on the naval theme. The pair was designed in conjunction with French design studio Style&Design, which specialises in both automotive and nautical projects.

The white Nautic concept draws inspiration from sailboats, with related addenda comprising white leather seats and teak-style wooden accents throughout the interior, as well as on the running boards and rear ‘deck’.

Meanwhile, the black version is said to be inspired by yachts. The aforementioned teak-deck theme is carried over, although the interior is trimmed in black leather with chrome eyelets.

Chrome is ever-present on both versions; the wheels, grille, door handles and trunk hinges all get the love-it-or-hate-it ‘bling’ treatment. The Nautics also get canvas awnings and a brace of foldout canvas chairs.

No intimations of possible production-worthiness have yet been given, but with Jeep's fondness for special edition series, we wouldn’t bet against a limited production run.
