“A quintessentially English take on motoring luxury” is how the creators describe their bespoke off-roader, based on the 2010 MY 5.0-litre 503bhp supercharged or TDV8 Range Rover. Only 100 will be built each year, worldwide, and Classic Driver was lucky enough to enjoy an early viewing of this exclusive new model at the Holland & Holland Shooting Ground, northwest of London, last week.
The all-purpose, all-season ‘supercar’ is the result of a joint creative effort by Holland & Holland, makers of the world’s finest sporting guns and Overfinch, originators of the bespoke, performance Range Rover. Perfect for anything from a picnic at Ascot to an evening at Glyndebourne, the interior features 31-piece gunstock walnut or special wood veneers for the dashboard, consoles and door inserts, with engraving on the steering wheel spokes which can, if desired, match the customer’s own shotgun.
Extra-fine hides swathe the unique, four-seater cabin, with a recessed Holland & Holland signature line appearing in a contrasting colour and a numbered plaque in shotgun-grade steel, handmade by the company’s gun engravers.
In the rear, a hand-veneered console houses an integrated refrigerator and Holland & Holland crystalware, with a drinks cabinet stocked with Pol Roger champagne, The Balvenie single malt whisky, Hendrick’s small-batch gin, Ivan the Terrible luxury vodka and Willow Spring Water from the Lake District – a good selection. But that’s not all. Models sold in Europe will benefit from the world’s first ‘self-replenishing cocktail cabinet’. To ensure your passengers don’t go thirsty, regular refills will be dispatched to the owner…
Meanwhile, a handmade gun cabinet sits in the boot, crafted in matching wood veneer, with three drawers fitted to carry shotguns, a cleaning kit and cartridges, plus space for an extra eight Holland & Holland crystal tumblers and flutes.
UK prices for the Holland & Holland Range Rover by Overfinch start at £139,650 OTR for the 3.6 TDV8, and £143,950 for the 5.0 supercharged V8.
