Over 50 cars will be on starter’s orders at Kempton Park later this month when H&H run a one day sale. Amongst a high quality entry is the superb ‘Verde Chiaro’ 1976 Lancia Stratos, estimated at £90,000 - 100,000.
Supplied new to Hans-Dieter Domeng of Berlin, the car is a 'Stradale' variant, and is thought to have covered approximately 10,000km before being acquired by British ex-pat Keith Norris. Passing into British rallyist Don Pither’s hands, the green car then saw active service in historic rallying right up to the 2006 Manx Classic. It is believed (but not warranted) to have covered just 40,613km or circa 25,000 miles from new.

Other Italian GT cars of note include the 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS at £88,000 - 95,000, the LHD 1962 Maserati 3500 GTi (£38,000 - 42,000), and the sale’s star lot, the 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 Super Sport, the F.W. Stiles Team car for £380,000 - 420,000. The latter is a really super entry and ‘ticks all the boxes’ for historic competition with its 3rd place in the 1929 Irish Grand Prix, ahead of such machinery as Sir Henry Birkin's 4.5-litre Blower Bentley and Dudley Benjafield's privateer Alfa Romeo 6c 1750 Super Sport.

H&H’s Simon Hope has a soft spot for competition machinery and as well as the Alfa, there’s also the ex-John Miles/Graham Hill 1970 Lotus 72 at £220,000 - 260,000, and a fabulous 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 historic racing car for £40,000 - 45,000.
On the pre-War front we like the 1939 Lagonda V12 Le Mans Recreation by LMB Racing & Vintage Coachworks for £140,000 - 160,000, and the stylish 1926 Hispano Suiza H6B Landaulet at £70,000 - 80,000.

As usual, H&H have a good selection of starter and popular classics, cars like the 1960 Morris Mini De Luxe, £1,200 - 1,800, and the 1963 Austin-Healey 3000 MKIIA estimated at £15,000 - 17,000.
For ever your racing tipster, ‘Wakefield’s One To Watch’ at the four o’clock at Kempton is the ex-Hong Kong white/black leather 1985 Ferrari 308 GTB QV at £16,000 - 18,000. An outsider maybe, but it could be a dark horse for future investment.

Prior to the Motor Cars, H&H will sell over 400 lots of automobilia including photographs, paintings and models. One entry is a black/white period publicity photograph of German grand prix star Manfred Von Brauchitsch signed prominently by him in ink pen. 9x14cm, estimated at £200-300.
