1998 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Supercharged |
1974 Lamborghini Urraco SP250 |
Back at their familiar Pavilion Gardens, Buxton venue, H&H will be selling nearly 100 classics; old and new. This supercharged Aston Martin Vantage is estimated at £47,000 - 52,000.
Despite the extraordinary sales success, and devastating modern performance, of its current range of cars, Aston Martin will be forever linked to the 'rugby-player' massive power of its 1990s supercars, the zenith of which was surely the twin-supercharged Vantage. This car in the sale shows just 18,308 miles on its odometer and is finished in the popular Rolls-Royce metallic blue.
Like Aston, Lamborghini is in rampant resurgence and attractive models from the past are now beginning to register on the collector's radar. The 1974 Lamborghini Urraco SP250 is estimated at £9,000 - 11,000 and looks an attractive (and cheaper) alternative to the ubiquitous Ferrari 308 GT4. There's also a 1985 Ferrari 308 GTB QV for £16,000 - 18,000.
1939 Lagonda V12 Drophead Coupe - Est. £40,000 - 50,000
In the pre-war years driving a Lagonda was the equivalent of owning a Rolls-Royce, Bentley or Bugatti and the V12 model the absolute pinnacle of elegance and style. The 1939 Lagonda V12 Drophead Coupe to be auctioned by H&H has been off the road since 1970 and currently sports blue paintwork rather than the black it was originally delivered in. A full restoration is required, but when completed the new owner will have one of the classics of the period - and a valuable car to boot.
1972 Rolls-Royce Corniche Coupe |
1959 Kieft Climax 1100 Sports Racer |
Other cars of note include a plethora of Mercedes-Benz SLs in varying degrees of age and condition, as well as two two-door Rolls-Royce Corniche Coupes, both estimated at £11,000 - 13,000 and we particularly like the Coffee Bean brown 1972 example. There's also a very nice 1961 Jaguar E-Type 3.8 'Flat-floor' Roadster at £46,000 - 50,000 that's clearly had a great deal of restoration work completed and is finished in the desirable gunmetalgrey with red leather interior combination.
