Goodwood Dates for 2008

Time to make a note for your 2008 diaries, as the Earl of March has announced the dates of next year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival.

Make sure you keep the weekend of 11th to 13th July free for the Festival of Speed. It will be the 16th running of the hillclimb event in the grounds of Goodwood House, although the theme is still under discussion and won’t be announced until later this year.

Meanwhile, the Goodwood Revival will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2008, not to mention the 60th anniversary of the Goodwood Motor Circuit itself. Lord March and his team are sure to pull out all the stops to create a better-than-ever anniversary spectacular - so, whatever you do, cancel any holidays, wedding plans, work commitments and so on which clash with the weekend of 19th to 21st September. The Goodwood Revival takes precedence for all serious historic motorsport enthusiasts...

There’s just one caveat to all this. Only one event has the clout to shift the Goodwood dates - and that, of course, is the British Grand Prix. Hence confirmation of the 2008 Goodwood dates is subject to the FIA World Council finalising next year’s F1 calendar at its December meeting. But any change is unlikely. (Surely the FIA wouldn’t dare?)

As in previous years, admission to both Goodwood events will be strictly by advance tickets, with sales commencing on Thursday 1st November 2007. The ticket hotline is contactable via email: [email protected]; telephone: +44 1243 755055; fax: +44 1243 755058; or via the online ticket section of the www.goodwood.co.uk/motorsport website.
