Flying Spur gets extra lift

German tuning company Mansory has produced a package for Bentley's latest four-door sedan that transforms the elegant limousine from Crewe into a fire-breathing 630 HP road-burner with 'enhanced' areodynamics.

The idea behind the changes is to give an even more individual take on the Flying Spur (and Continental GT) than that available through Bentley's own Mulliner bespoke programme. A re-chipped engine increases the car's already mighty engine output to 630 bhp/463kW, and this will give the Bentley Continental GT performance figures of 0 - 62 mph (or 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds), going on to a top speed in excess of 320 km/h or 199 mph. Peak torque of 750 Nm is available at only 1,600 rpm.

Externally, the Mansory front spoiler features integrated daytime running (or cornering) lights bordered with painted or chromed sword design elements and fully chromed air intake grilles. All Mansory bodywork is manufactured so that no additional mounting or fitting points need to be drilled.

The company claims the Mansory redesigned side skirts with chrome embellishments give the Flying Spur a longer sleeker appearance.

The complete redesigned rear skirt incorporates Mansory's oval chromium plated stainless steel exclusive over-and-under exhaust tips that, according to the company's publicity material, 'make an extreme statement of performance and speed coupled with a dominating sound'.

At the back, the redesigned rear spoiler and the Mansory 7 spoke light alloy wheels give a different appearance to standard. The wheels are also available in chrome-plated 9.0 x 20" and 275/35/20 profile tyres. Brand new for the Continental Flying Spur are forged 10 x 22" aluminium wheels with 295/25/22 tyres.

Mansory will also fit a revised air sport suspension system equipped with a performance braking system. This consists of:

2 six-piston-aluminium fixed calipers with 2 ventilated, perforated front discs (396x36 mm), brake pads and installation hardware (only in combination with Mansory 20" wheels). The rear brakes are 2 six-piston-aluminium fixed calipers, 2 ventilated, perforated rear discs (396x36 mm), brake pads and installation hardware (only incombination with Mansory 20" wheels).

And when it comes to the interior, Mansory will let customers choose from the finest Nappa leather and real carbon-fibre. A special sports steering wheel can be made to a customer's design. Illuminated Mansory stainless steel sill plates and polished aluminium foot pedals add that extra touch of class to the cabin.
