More than 600 Ferrari-owners took their cars along to the circuit in the shadow of Mount Fuji last weekend, for the Ferrari Festival of Japan. A further 2000 spectators arrived to enjoy the spectacle, which included the 1999 F399 single-seater and six FXXs – and the chance to see them take to the track for some untimed sessions.
Meanwhile, the Saturday of the Festival, organised by Ferrari Japan in conjunction with the Corse Clienti department of Maranello, saw a host of Ferraris – 348, 355, 360 and 430 in their Challenge versions – racing in the Ferrari Trophy of Japan.
Also on display for the Japanese spectators was the entire range of Maranello cars. The event was the venue for two Japanese premieres: the 599 GTO, which made its debut at the Peking motor show back in April, and the 458 Italia, launched last September but new to the Japanese market.
