Editor's Choice: 1971 TVR Vixen S3

Editor's Choice: 1971 TVR Vixen S3

For the price of an average family saloon, Classic Driver dealer Hilton Moss is currently offering the opportunity to own an exceptional British sports car: the ultra-light TVR Vixen.

Like its namesake from the animal kingdom, the Vixen is smart and nimble. Rather than carrying a heavyweight body compensated by a large-displacement engine, it uses GRP bodywork and compact dimensions to achieve a weight of just 750kg. The lightweight architecture is supplemented by a six-cylinder engine that originated from the Ford Capri, rebuilt and providing 110bhp in this example. Prepared for historic racing but also certified for road use, the seller says that the Vixen S3 on offer retains adequate practicality for grand touring trips, in addition to track-based thrills.
