It’s 1965, and on the mild sands of Carmel Beach, young local Vincent Frumkin is, quite literally, carving his dream of being a racing driver – from sand, at least…

Aside from visualising his dreams, Frumkin has sculpted the impressive sand single-seater for another reason – it’s the annual sandcastle contest on Carmel Beach, and he wants to be in the running when the judges arrive. Fortunately for him, the aforementioned judges are open to (non-monetary) bribes, and we’re sure his parents will have plied the panel with an indulgent selection of food and alcoholic beverages. If a future as a racing driver doesn’t work out for Frumkin, perhaps one as a sculptor will…
