Galartis heads to Montreux with a jazzy selection of collector cars

Spearheaded by a beautiful anthracite Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster, Galartis’ Montreux Grand Prix Sale takes place on Sunday 16 September. We’ve perused the 41-lot catalogue so you don’t need to – these are our highlights…

Taking place during the Montreux Grand Prix, an historic motorsport festival in the small Swiss town more commonly associated with jazz music, Galartis’ next sale comprises 41 collector cars lead by a 1959 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster that’s been with its current owner for the past 30 years. Presented in its original anthracite-over-camel colour combination and with the all-important matching numbers, the car is expected to sell for 1.2–1.4m CHF.

Other cars that caught our eye include the beautifully original 1999 Ferrari F355 Fiorano Edition (est. 190,000–230,000 CHF), quirky 1966 Matra Djet V with its logos stamped into the rear of the ‘C’ pillars (52,000–62,000 CHF), and the 2004 Alpina B3 – perhaps the ultimate noughties sleeper (25,000–35,000 CHF). Porsche 911 buffs should also be taken with both the comprehensively restored 1970 911 S 2.2-litre Targa (190,000–230,000 CHF) and the ultra-rare 1996 993 Carrera RS Clubsport (400,000–450,000 CHF). You can find our 10 favourites from the sale, which takes place on 16 September, listed below or, alternatively, you can browse the entire catalogue in the Classic Driver Market
