Superfast Charging Shooting Brake
We must admit, it takes a lot for us to feel even remotely excited by a Tesla, but what does excite us is shooting brakes, of any kind. That’s exactly why this Tesla Model S caught our eye – from the front it looks like your standard silent cruiser seen around the world, but turn it slightly to the side and you'll reveal a customised rear boot that changes the entire design of the car.
Finished in a deep metallic blue with white leather, this one-off custom family hauler boasts the cream-of-the-crop P100D motor, rocketing the car from a standstill to 60mph in just 2.4 seconds. Whilst it may not be the coolest car we’ve ever featured on Market Finds, it’s certainly one of the fastest that can comfortably blast the entire family, including the family pet, along the highway!
London Calling
In the late 1980s, if you wanted a handsome yet versatile status symbol to let others know the bank account is looking healthy, nothing said it with as much conviction as a Range Rover. Effortlessly cool, and yet tough as old boots, this era of Land Rover’s flagship would become the car adored by football stars and royalty in equal measures.
For those looking to showcase their wealth that little bit further, a trip to Wood & Pickett’s Park Royal facility would need to be arranged. In the case of this example, finished in Caspian blue with white trim, it has just about the entire brochure thrown at it, totalling almost the value of a new Lamborghini Countach in period.
It boasts an completely customised interior that matches the exterior, as well as extensive wood finishings along the dashboard, central column, and door cards. The more outlandish modifcations come from the Wolfrace wheels, and the relocation of spare to rear of vehicle, changing this Range Rover's appearance into that of a more laid-back mud lover than an elegant SUV. If rarities from the car world are your thing, this is one Range Rover not to be missed!
City Slickers
As modern cars continue to grow larger and less engaging, a well sorted classic becomes ever more appealing as a way of navigating the shortcuts and backroads to avoid the rush hour traffic. Many classics would be ideal, we’ve heard the original Mini is a dab-hand at it, especially if they are in a trio, but our choice would be this Alfa Romeo GTV 1750.
Arriving initially into Germany in 1968, this fine example has now been treated to a full restoration, and boasts a number of enhancements that allow the driver to enjoy the car to its maximum, including an electronic ignition, grippy Pirelli tyres and a full engine overhaul. For when the streets get even narrower, and four wheels need to become two, a matching Vespa finished in the same shade is the ideal solution, and thankfully this sale has them both!
The Sound of Music
A serene Spring morning, with only the faint sound of nearby streams trickling through the mountain pass. Low clouds linger, and through the gloom a snarling V8 saloon flashes as it continues its way carving down the spaghetti-like hairpins and off into the distance. Sounds like the dream, right? Well, make it a reality with this certified future classic.
Nogaro Blue, six-speed manual, exterior satin aluminium trim still present, original wheels, and that wonderful naturally aspirated V8 are what makes this 2007 Audi RS4 Saloon the ultimate usable future classic. Producing 420 horsepower with a 0-62mph time of just 4.8 seconds thanks to Audi’s Quattro system, the B7 era of RS4 is highly regarded as the sweet spot. Examples as well cared for as this are becoming rare to find, and we’re certain it’s only going to get harder as time goes by!
Michele Alboreto, we salute you!
Spending 14 years at the pinnacle of motorsport is no easy feat, making it a testament to the ability driver Michele Alboreto had behind the wheel. Driving for the likes of Tyrrell, Minardi and five seasons with Scuderia Ferrari, it’s fair to say Alboreto understood what it took to make a good car great. That could also be said off the circuit, too, and in August of 1995, he took delivery of this stunning Ferrari F355 Berlinetta.
Now regarded as one of Ferrari’s best modern-era V8 engines, the F355 offered the ideal mix between a grand tourer and all-out sportscar, possessing bags of charm and an interior to die for. This example is finished in Nero Carbonio over a Beige leather interior, a tasteful mix that accentuates that uncluttered cabin to perfection. As 1990s era Ferraris go, there are a number to choose from, but the appeal of the F355 is difficult to deny!
