Under the motto “For every week of the year, and yet one more”, the Swiss watchmaker Carl F. Bucherer neatly proclaims the versatility of a movement not only capable of recording calendar weeks, but also of allowing for the occasional ‘53rd week’.
The Patravi Calendar, from Bucherer, features the company’s in-house CFB A1000 movement. In addition to days of the month, a discreet circular dial counts up the weekly increments over a 12-month period.
The 42.6mm-diameter round case is made from either stainless steel or 18 carat rose gold. The dial – identical on steel or gold versions – is a carefully designed mixture of silver and black. The date is in an unfamiliar position at 11 o’clock, set inside the week-indicator. Seconds are displayed by a ‘small seconds’ rotating dial at 6 o’clock.
