The Byfleet Bullitt

Back in November, we reported on the launch of the 2008 Mustang Bullitt to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the release of the Steve McQueen film ‘Bullitt’. The first of these limited-edition models (only 7700 will be made) has now arrived in the UK. Bill Shepherd Mustang of Byfleet in Surrey has taken delivery of the Mustang Bullitt and the new owner has already visited the dealership to take photographs of his car and choose some accessories to go with it. He will then take delivery in March.

The 2008 Mustang Bullitt is powered by a 4.6-litre V8 which develops more than 310bhp and 325lb ft of torque. As with the original film car, the latest model has been stripped of its badges, scoops and spoilers, with only the word ‘Bullitt’, dropped into a gun-sight graphic on the faux petrol cap, to identify its status.

Said David Wilson, Sales Manager at Bill Shepherd Mustang, “This is a very exciting time for us. With the Mustang dealership now finished, we have a stock of new GTs, Bullitts and 1960s classics.”
