In a few days’ time, a new open-topped Bugatti Veyron will be unveiled to the public at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport has a removable roof, which ‘allows driver and passenger to feel even closer to the car’s breathtaking power’ and, no doubt, to further enjoy the engine’s characteristic racing roar in the open airstream.
Bugatti is, so far, giving away very few details of its new roadster but claims ‘a large number of new equipment features’ plus ‘innovative structural solutions’ to ensure the same passive safety standards as the coupe version of the supercar.
The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport will be presented to the public on the afternoon of August 16, on the lawn in front of the Pebble Beach Lodge. The first ‘build slot’ for this new car, scheduled for Spring 2009, will be auctioned the following day at the Gooding sales, at the Equestrian Center at Pebble Beach. I think we can expect a great deal of interest.
