BMW 650i to replace the BMW 645i for 2006 models

BMW’s new 4.8-litre eight-cylinder developing maximum output of 367 hp has already made a name for itself in the BMW 750i. Now this power also comes in the BMW 6 Series Coupé and Convertible, the two new BMW 650i models replacing the BMW 645Ci.

34 hp more power and an increase in torque by 30 lb-ft give BMW’s two large sports cars even more dynamic performance: The new BMW 650i Coupé accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, while its open-air counterpart completes the same exercise in 5.7 seconds.

Passing another vehicle in fourth gear of the six-speed manual gearbox featured as standard (six-speed automatic transmission is available as an option) takes the 650i Coupé just 4.7 seconds, with the 650i Convertible requiring only 0.2 seconds more. Top speed of both models is limited electronically to 250 km/h or 155 mph.

From outside both of the new models remain very: Only two new exterior colours – Monaco Blue and Barbera Red – as well as new 19-inch wheel design with different-sized tyres (245/40 R 19 at the front, 275/35 R 19 at the rear) - show the connoisseur that these are indeed BMW’s new 650i models.
