Best of Show: Delage D8S Wins at Pebble Beach 2010

The Judges have decided. The Best of Show at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is a 1933 Delage D8S De Villars Roadster, owned by The Patterson Collection in Louisville, Kentucky.

“There are so many things about this car that are special,” said owner Jim Patterson, “We've won at a lot of concours, but never here. This win at Pebble is the ultimate. This is the one win that really matters.” The white, streamlined 1933 Delage with coachwork from De Villars beat competitors from 33 states and 14 countries to become the 60th annual Best of Show winner, at California’s Monterey Peninsula on Sunday 15 August. “This Delage has a short wheelbase that makes it look more rakish, but it still has a long and elegant look,” added Concours Chairman Sandra Button, explaining the judges’ decision. “It did 110mph in its day; it could race and was stunningly beautiful. This car could do it all; it embodied style, speed and comfort.”
