The Bentley Brooklands – Classic Driver book ‘Highly Commended’ in industry awards

When Classic Driver UK decided to create a book on the Bentley Brooklands, we were determined to produce something very special indeed. But even we never imagined that the book would be shortlisted for the 2011 British Book Design and Production Awards.

On Tuesday 8 November, the results were announced, and Classic Driver was delighted to discover that our book, ‘The Bentley Brooklands’, was Highly Commended in the Limited Edition and Fine Binding category. Co-written by author and racing driver Tony Dron, and his respected fellow journalist Simon de Burton, ‘The Bentley Brooklands’ is the story of how this remarkable modern-day automobile was conceived, designed and made, followed by a gloriously evocative account of taking one such car across Europe. Striking pictures by world-renowned photographers Michael Bailie and Charlie Best, and a beautifully crafted burgundy Pasubio leather cover matching the interior of the featured car, make the ‘Special’ edition of this book a particular delight to own. The ‘Special’ edition, published in strictly limited numbers, also comes in a velvet-lined, burgundy Pasubio leather-covered slipcase with foil blocking on front and spine.

The ‘Standard’ version of the book is bound in burgundy cloth, with a velvet-lined burgundy cloth slipcase and, again, foil blocking on front and spine. The two versions are priced at £295.00 and £125.00, respectively, plus post & packing. A few copies are still left; to order, please email [email protected] or see www.bentleybrooklandsbook.com.
