Aston Martin Cygnet: Now in the Metal

Or should that be ‘in the carbon composite’? Whatever the materials, the dinky Aston Martin city car is one step nearer production with the release of new photos of a finished car.

Based on the standard-setting Toyota iQ, Aston Martin’s take on the luxury commuter market (believe us – it does exist) can now be seen one stage further on from the clay modelling images released earlier this year.

It looks like an Aston should and, despite fierce criticism in some quarters, it’s a favourite in the Classic Driver office. We strongly believe that the company’s CEO, Dr Ulrich Bez, is on to something when he said that the little car could offer “...intelligent and sensitive mobility on an exclusive and innovative level”.

No further news is coming from Gaydon apart from the press office stating that “work on the concept is ongoing and will continue into 2010, when it is hoped that it will become a production reality, initially available to Aston Martin customers in the UK and Europe.”
