From a distance, it might seem this trio of frolicking females was making the most of a short spell of summer sunshine in central London. However, ‘they’ were actually part of a temporary sculpture installation by Brooklyn-born artist Alex Katz, who is currently holding an exhibition nearby...
The painted-aluminium figurines were seen making a splash the Tadao Ando-designed water feature outside The Connaught Hotel last week, adjacent to which is the Serpentine Gallery holding an exhibition of the artist’s work. ‘Alex Katz: Quick Light’ will run until 3 September.
