Take a ride through art history in the Tate’s new time machine

We’ve all wished we could travel through time. To celebrate the opening of the London’s Tate Modern extension, the museum has created a time machine to take you back through art history…

The ‘Tate Time Machine’ interactive experience, which differs every time you visit, aims to shed light on the artists themselves, and how their perspectives and motivations changed not just art history, but also popular culture. Making art history accessible to a wider and potentially younger audience, Tate hopes that visitors to the Time Machine will be inspired to visit the museum’s new Herzog & de Meuron-designed extension, which opened just last week. It boasts, for the first time, space dedicated to live and performance art, as well as many other exciting exhibitions of new works and existing Tate favourites.
