2012 Le Mans 24 Hours: Aston Martin race as curtain-raiser

In addition to the historic race for Group C cars, to be held on the Saturday morning of next year’s Le Mans 24 Hours, the crowds are in for another very special treat before the curtain goes up for the main endurance event.

Saturday 16th June 2012 will see a grid of Aston Martin GT3s and GT4s, competing head-to-head on the full Le Mans circuit – a spectacular array of Vantage GT4s and N24s, and the new Vantage GT3s due to be homologated in 2012.

Free practice for the Aston Martins will be on the Wednesday of Le Mans week with qualifying on the Thursday; followed by a 45-minute race to delight spectators on the Saturday morning. If you’re an Aston racer yourself, entries are now open, and it’s a case of ‘first come, first served’ – although participants in the British Aston Martin GT4 Challenge are assured of a place as long as they enter before 9th December. Entry enquiries to Greg Harris: [email protected].

The detailed programme will be announced later.
