Introduced in 1978 as a six-cylinder variant of the acclaimed Celica, the Supra-whose name derived from the Latin prefix meaning "to surpass" -was destined to rise above. The second-generation Celica Supra arrived in 1981 and took that distinction further with unique styling, a lengthened silhouette, and comprehensively upgraded suspension; establishing a more sophisticated foundation for Toyota's emerging grand touring flagship.

This 1982 Toyota Celica Supra 2.8i is a desirable early European-market example, equipped with the most powerful 5M-GE engine configuration that delivers 170 PS through its five-speed manual transmission. Originally finished in Silver on Dark Grey according to its build plate, the Celica Supra has since been restored in two-tone Red on Gloss Black. This is paired with a two-tone interior featuring black trim with blue/black seats and striped inserts.

Delivered new to its original owner in Saland, Switzerland, this example benefitted from regular maintenance primarily through Garage Kunz AG through 1995 according to its original stamped service booklet. The Celica Supra was subsequently located in Steg im Tösstal from 2005 to 2019.

Acquired by the current owner in 2023, the car has since undergone a thorough refresh. The valve cover gaskets and front brake pads and discs were replaced in August 2023, with a comprehensive transmission rebuild transpiring the following year. Most recently, the Celica Supra had its brake fluid flushed and steering rebuilt in May 2026, with invoices available to review.
